Carefully pry the white plastic cover off of the top of the iPod Mini with the tip of the included flat head screw driver. Be careful not to scratch the plastic cover with the screw driver. Use gentle force to remove the cover which is attached by a small amount of glue.
Use the included phillips head screw driver to remove the two screws at the top of the iPod Mini. Place the screws in a safe place for reassembly.
Carefully pry the white plastic cover off of the bottom of the iPod Mini with the tip of the included flat head screw driver in the same way the top white plastic cover was removed. Use the same care and force to remove the bottom cover as the top cover. Beneath the bottom cover is a small metal clip. Place the included flat head screw driver in each of the four corners and apply gentle force to remove each corner. The clip should come free from the iPod.
Before the the inner portion of the iPod Mini can be removed, the connector at the bottom of the iPod Mini needs to be disconnected. Use the tip of the included flat head screw driver to gently disconnect the connector from its socket.
Push the inner portion of the iPod Mini out from the bottom the case. The inner portion will slide free and allow access to the battery.
Gently lift the battery from the inner portion of the iPod Mini. Put the battery to the side and gently remove the battery's power connector from its socket.
Insert the new UltraLast battery's power connector into the socket and place the battery in the same position as the original battery. Reassemble the iPod Mini in the same way it was disassembled. Be sure to reinsert the two screws on the top of the iPod, replace the metal clip, and reapply the white case covers. The original glue will hold them in place. Make sure all parts are reassembled correctly and with care. Charge
